Competitions
At the fayre we will be encouraging people to enter these competitions
SCHEDULE OF SHOW CLASSES
Rules:-
1. Only one entry per person, per class.
2. Flowers shown in Classes 1 & 2 must be grown by the exhibitor.
3. Entries in children's classes 6 to 18 must be entirely their own work.
4. Entries for all. Classes must be brought to the School between 9.30-1l.30am
5. Entry fees per exhibit of 50p for adult classes, and 20p for Children's classes (Class 18 FREE) to be paid on the day of the Fayre.
6. Exhibitors must write their name on a piece of paper and place it face down under their exhibit.
7. Exhibitors must leave the show area between l2.00-2.00pm during judging.
8. Exhibits must not be removed from the show area until the Fayre is over.
9. Prize money of 1st £3; 2nd £2; 3rd £1 in each adult class; Gardening prizes for children's classes.
lO. Judging of floral classes by judges from I.W.Hort Assn Guild of Judges.
Adult Classes (Exhibitors aged 16 years or over)
1. ONE SPECIMEN ROSE (single bloom, one stem) in vase, provided. (Winner will have a Rose named after him or her)
2. SIX SWEET PEAS in one vase, provided.
3. ARRANGEMENT OF ROSES AND SWEET PEAS (all round effect) shown in exhibitors own vase
4. A PAINTING OF A SUMMER GARDEN (any size, any medium)
Judged by the Director of Quay Arts, Winning painting will be hung in Quay Arts.
5. A PHOTOGRAPH OF A SUMMER GARDEN Judged by representative from Dimbola Lodge. Winning photograph will be hung at Dimbola Galleries and Photographic Museum.
Children's Classes (Exhibitors aged up to 16 years)
AN ARRANGEMENT OF GARDEN FLOWERS in own vase:-
6. For children aged up to 5 years (on day of Fayre)
7. For children aged between 5 & 7 years
8. For children aged between 8 & 11 years
9. For children aged between 12 & 16 years
PAINTING OF FLOWERS In any medium, any size (Judged as above)
10. For children aged up to 5 years
11. For children aged between 5 & 7 years
12. For children aged between 8 & 11 years
13. For children a~ed between 12 & 16 years
PHOTOGRAPH OF FLOWERS (Judged as above)
14. For children aged up to 5 years
15. For children aged between 5 & 7 years
16. For children aged between 8 & 11 years
17. For children aged between 12 & 16 years
FOR CHILDREN AT CHALE SCHOOL OR NURSERY ONLY (No entry fee)
18. A GARDEN ON A PLATE, plate maximum 12 diameter
If you or anyone you know would like to enter one or all of these competitions then all you have to do is have your entry at the school by 9.30-1l.30am on the day of the show. We will be providing vases for the roses as we have to be careful of glass with the children. We are asking 50p per entry which I am sure you will agree is well worth it for such great prizes. Come along and get those competitive juices going.
